At last, a Disney movie I can get excited about

1)Yay, a Black princess! Being black myself, I can say "It's about time!"
2)Double yay for old skool animation
3)If the plot ends up being half a good as this trailer, it'll be the best thing Disney's put out since "Lilo and Stitch"

XD

What, you didn't see the kerfluffle about Miss Black Princess being something like historically accurate, and thus OMG RACIST STEREOTYPE? XD;; They changed her name because the old one was a slave name, or something. (It was something bog-standard, too, Bess or Martha or something like that. I SHOULD CHECK... Oh, yeah, Maddy. Which is now Tiana, because one of these sounds very 1920s, y/y?)

ANYWAY YES I'm looking forward to it, too, even if I've been happily lolling at the kerfluffles for a while now. XD

Oh, I saw heard a little something about it, which I think is much ado over nothing. I mean, damn, wasn't that the plot of Cinderella being a girl of gold was a queen because of her pure heart or something? I didn't even know Maddy was a "racist" name until I heard this. Maddie's been one of my favorite names ever since I first read Madeline at six years old.

Yeah, the historical accuracies are pretty *faceplam*-worthy. Not that Disney is very historically accurate anyway but at least TIIC played with time periods that were well-documented and that there weren't people alive who remember how it was.

Still will enjoy this movie, regardless. Can't be any more removed from the point of the original story like certain other Disney Princess tales *cough* Little Mermaid* cough, cough...I still like it, cough*
