IT's a good week for fandom
Type your cut contents here
1) Hell's Kitchen. I'm glad that guy Dave won. I've only watched this season and last, and this season, and overall, I'd say they had a horrible pool to pick from this season.
But Dave...! The guy busted his arm and hung through some bad pain to keep up his dream. I sort of wonder if he'd have felt he had to prove more he he'd had both working arms, but even before he busted himself, I don't remember him getting screamed at by Ramsey. That...never happens.LOL. Congrats to him!
2)BLEACH! OMG, the plot's moving again. We got Ichigo, Rukia, shots of Renji and Chad, and Rukia is the only female thus far that seems to have handled herself in a battle without needing a man to avenge her (O HI THAR, Mashiro and Hiyori). The only big surprise is the lack of shippy inferences from fandom, given how long it's been since they shared a scene together, but it really didn't warrent it, and I'm glad.
Some people apparently think the character development of Ichigo needing to protect his friends get in the way of him wanting to kill and stuff. Um, I'm sorry, but WHAT?! If his friends and family weren't in danger...what would be the point of fighting? He's always wanted to get stronger to protect those around him, and that was well before he ever met Rukia. Talk about missing the point completely. He goes too far (as the Lust Arc demonstrates), but I trhink he'll have to find a balance, and soon.
I didn't think my fandom week could get any better until this news for Y&R came out just over an hour ago. For those not into soaps, this actor's been on for almost three decades, but thanks to his popularity, the character's become copletely unlikeable because he can't NEVER LOSE. Not to his family, not to anyone. His need for revenge got his granddaughter brain damaged and his goddaughter killed recently, and he's never apologized for the former. He's told his ex-wife he wishes she were dead because her husband and his new pregnant wife were in a car together that careened off the road and killed them both, and somehow this was her fault. :? And she still goes to bat for this fucker. I can't wait until his goes and we can get stories that DON'T make him the center of this show anymore.
Between all that and finally getting my Navy application sent though, it's been a good day today. *nods*

And OMG, Bleach fandom. Are you for real? Why do you want to turn Ichigo into a mindless killing machine? D; And I'm disappointed about Mashiro and Hiyori. Gender stereotypes are getting old fast, but at least Rukia is holding her own. Go girl!
Also, I am appalled by that soap opera (I never thought I would see the day when the Young and the Restless would be in the same journal post as Bleach) and that character. He sounds like an awful person and I feel sorry for his ex-wife!

It be crossover tiem nao, Y/N?Yeah, that's not even the worst of the horrendous plots. Victor's estranged son wanted to get back at him and another character and uses Victor's wife (who is also said other guy's sister) to gaslight her. And she's pregnant, with a previous history of meltdowns, one of which was after her last baby died. She lost this baby after his trick caused her to fall down a long flight of stairs, but blocked it out of her mind. Her dead baby was switched with one her daughter-in-law gave birth to, which is also fucked up since that woman has also lost a daughter five years ago.
Oh, I almost forgot how he blackmailed a OBGYN who he knew to be molesting his patients into "treating" her and convincing her that she was, indeed, still pregnant. Even though she wondered a few times why she didn't feel the baby move anymore. That's just peachy! :?
Yeah. That's not good story telling or "touching upon history" as one writer put it. That's just cruel. That SL along with this actor's departure has drove my mom away after watching this show since it first aired, and that's quite a feat. I don't' blame her. It's not even the same show I got into last YEAR. D:
Speaking of needlessly sick plot points, the Ichigo comments are exactly why I don't go into the forums. That, and the fact that some want to see any of the good guys dead, no matter who it is. IT seems Kubo might be using the Vizard to fill that quota, but frankly, I find that to be a bit cheaper and lazy than I'd expect out of him. I wouldn't mind a more realistic count, but to cheer that cause on like some do...? O_o. Wow.
And generally, my biggest problem is many people just don't seem to know what the hell they're talking about. I've give even the most rabid shippers at Bleachness this much credit; they at least bother to do research to make their arguments. Aside from the issue of Orihime, I can tell we all have watched the same show. The forums...not so much.
Also, Yammi's pantyshot...XD. Poor Renji. No wonder he fainted, if THAT was the last thing he saw.

I will never be able to unthink this now. Y U DO DIS? D:I'm getting rather terrified of your soap opera. It makes me feel rather awful for saying so, but why hasn't this character been killed off earlier? He is a terrible person!
Also, the Orihime hate still makes me so sad. ): It's the main reason why I avoid the Bleach fandom if I can help it. This is getting out of hand! What did Orihime ever do to anybody? It's not like she enjoys the suffering of others or does something horrible like... eats babies for breakfast! Come on!
And poor Renji. Why does he always have to go through the traumatizing things? *pets him*

Though, I don't think he's on a self-destructive course like some people think. I think he wants to just get this over. Maybe he's not facing his issues, but there's not really any plot time for that. Yammy released as Ulquiorra died. He doesn't have much time to deal with what happened.
