How have I NOT joined this place sooner?
FF.net's been my mainstay for posting fanfic since sophomore year of high school (!), but archiveofourown.org actually allows people to download stories to their phones and stuff. The layout is awesome sauce, allowing for multiple tags, multiple charcater/pairing options. You can even save a draft of a story withotu posting for up to 30 days--which is great, since I had one to post on Valentine's day and will be on duty and away from my house, so I can hit the "submit" button from a computer on the ship.
And also, I can frigging download those wonderful but long stories that I'll not want to sit up on a computer to read, such as The Roots of Heaven and that Winter War AU that's been the only fic still updated on
kurosaki_clinic these days.
I assume most of you may have accounts over there, but if not, I can't recommend it enough, and will be more than happy to send invites!

Date: 2015-02-14 07:13 am (UTC)The whole thing is just so much more clean, and I'll be more than glad to donate money to the site. I hope they've got a sister site for regular fiction as well.

Date: 2015-02-19 04:22 am (UTC)I have to admit, I kind of stopped watching Bleach after everything happened with Aizen and crew and then they took a weird right turn...maybe I'll catch up with it at the end, too.
Yay, thank you! It's a lot different than the fan work I was doing (a lot more srs bsns, and no pr0n until book 3), but I hope you like it regardless. *fingers crossed*

Date: 2015-02-23 03:45 am (UTC)And did I mention the download options? Longer fic are far easier read on a tablet or phone than upright on a PC. ;) I work on a ship, and we don't have WiFi so offline reading is a great option when I'm skating off....I mean working. Yeah, that's it. :p
You're not the only one that gave up on the series. When I was stationed in Japan, we had some crazy hours,I was gone at sea six months out the year so the left turn at Albequeque that Kudo took made it easier to drop outta fandom.

Date: 2015-02-26 02:36 am (UTC)Speaking of Kindles, I should tell you that I've found out that my word processor freaked out when I created the manuscript for the e-book I just published, and ended up leaving a bunch of words out of the final product (not up to making a book-length manuscript, sadly). So, I've gotten a new word processor and am in the process of creating a new edition. That should be ready in the next few weeks (after a thorough review by my editor any myself, because I'm paranoid now), and I'll send you a free copy when it's ready.
Yeah, I did watch Bleach up to the resolution of the Aizen and company arc (which did get a little tiresome due to the sheer number of fight after fight after fight scenes with little plot advancement otherwise), but pretty much stopped after that. Sometimes it's fun to catch up on series when you've been away from them for a while, like reading/watching a bunch of stuff at once, so maybe that's what I'll do. I could see where being at sea six months a year would make it easy to drop stuff, but it is really nice to see you back. :D

Date: 2015-02-28 01:53 am (UTC)The fight scenes got too much. I mean, it's great we have a large cast that daytime television would envy, but did every Captain and VC of the 13 Squad need five chapters' worth of fights and none of the good guys die? I got suckered in on that trick during the Bya/Renji battle (the first episode I ever watched) where I thought our favorite ginger was done for. Then, the troll got old. ;)
And it's good to be back, ghost town as it's become on LJ. But I don't like messing with the message boards beyond the two or three I'm registered at and this is where I spent the majority of my Bleach fandom at. So I'll stay. :)
